Weyerhaeuser (merged with Plum Creek in 2016) – Vice President of Real Estate (Atlanta)
Bill Calton served as Weyerhaeuser’s Vice President of Real Estate. In that position, Calton oversaw the land asset management business that includes the sale of land in eighteen states, including the strategic outcome for all of the company’s Higher-and-Better-Use (HBU) lands, as well as the conservation activities of the company’s 11 million acre portfolio. He had joined Plum Creek in 2006 as Director of Real Estate and held a variety of increasing roles including oversight of the company’s recreational lease management program.
2001-2006
Trammell Crow Company – Principal and Senior Vice President (Atlanta)
Calton led a regional team of over 150 associates for the company’s largest client, and their land and commercial building assets in 12 states. For five years, he oversaw the leasing, development, and management of 30 million square feet of property for the firm’s largest corporate client.
1990-2001
JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) – Vice President, Local Agency Broker (Nashville, Dallas, Atlanta)
In 1990, he joined JLL where he held roles of growing responsibility with this national commercial real estate company during his eleven-year tenure, working and living in Nashville, Dallas, and Atlanta.
1985-1989
Southeast Venture Company- Project Development Manager, Sales Broker (Nashville)
Calton served as a development manager and sales broker for this prominent real estate firm in Tennessee, working on complex, mixed-use projects in the Nashville Metro region.

Achievements:
Calton has spent 40 years in the real estate industry, working with private and institutional owners of both hard assets and bare land. For the last 17 years, he managed a nationwide team for the largest corporate owner of land in the U.S., where his team focused on adding value to the company’s timberland holdings in 18 states, including the evaluation, and sales/purchase of HBU and Conservation parcels around the country.
Personal:
Calton currently lives in Chattanooga, TN with his two English Setters, and is passionate about hiking, fishing, and hunting in the outdoors. He also enjoys teaching tennis to children, and he was the former Chairman of the Board for Wilderness Works, a non-profit organization focused on getting economically disadvantaged children exposed to nature and outdoor adventures.
