Location and Acreage: The ranch is located in western Montana, in Belt, twelve miles from two old mining towns, Monarch and Neihart. Great Falls is a one-hour drive northwest on Highway 89, also known as the Kings Hill Scenic Byway. Snow removal crews work throughout the winter season to keep this highway open for year round access. Highway 89 spans Montana, connecting Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. The Great Falls International Airport provides service by four major airline carriers. Livingston and the famed Yellowstone River are ninety minutes south, with Yellowstone National Park’s original entrance fifty-five miles further to the south on Highway 89. The ranch consists of approximately 325 deeded acres. The acreage is divided into approximately 136 acres of grazing, 107 acres of wild hay, 75 acres of timber and 7 acres that envelope the buildings.
Live Water: Tillinghast Creek is a classic Montana mountain stream filled with populations of cutthroat and brook trout, which thrive on the ranch property. The stream’s consistent flow provides the ideal habitat for fish growth and reproduction. Tillinghast Creek flows north and supplements Belt Creek, located four miles from the ranch. Belt Creek continues forty miles north and feeds into the Missouri River above the historic town of Fort Benton. Both Belt Creek and the Missouri provide a variety of fishing opportunities. The famous headwater rivers of the Missouri are within a two-hour drive to the south and southwest.
