The Howard Ranch totals +/- 306.48 acres and is located in southwestern Colorado in the picturesque San Juan Mountain Range. The property is located in Hinsdale County, a popular summer and fall vacation destination dues to its scenic high-country setting, pleasant temperatures and endless recreational pursuits with 96% of the land designated as public lands. Nestled between picturesque alpine peaks at approximately 9,100 ft. in elevation, the ranch is surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of protected public lands. The Powderhorn Wilderness Area is across the west fence line and 130,000-acre Lagurita Wilderness Area to the south and portions of the east form the ranch boundary. Jeep, ATV, hiking and horse trails are accessed out of the ranch in multiple directions. Hike out the front door onto BLM maintained trails leading in to the Powderhorn Wilderness Area, fish one of the many high country lakes via jeep trail or ride for hours on horseback in to the Forest Service land nearby to view elk, moose, deer and Big Horn sheep. The ranch is located in the world-famous, fully limited big game UNIT 66, supporting outstanding elk and Mule deer with exceptional bull to cow, buck to doe ratios and some of the world’s largest Mule deer. Due to the large acreage, the ranch qualifies for numerous land owner tags for both deer and elk. The ranch is serviced year around by a county maintained road and is equipped with power and phone service to the property.
