Gallatin River Sporting Paradise
Details & Features
Overview: Gallatin River Sporting Paradise represents the finest in trout fishing, shooting, bird and deer hunting available in Montana and the Northern Rocky Mountains. This 79-acre offering boasts private Gallatin River frontage with a great variety of trout and good hatches, a lush riparian corridor with excellent duck hunting, mature cottonwood forest and many types of birds and wildlife. Included in the purchase is an award-winning main residence, a spacious caretaker’s home and a comfortable guest apartment over a large shop. Shooters will appreciate the 12 station sporting clays and fivestand shooting course. Gallatin River Sporting Paradise is less than ten miles from Bozeman. It is easy to see that this property is not just rare, it is virtually irreplaceable.
Location: Located on the east bank of the Gallatin River, nine miles from Bozeman this setting is almost too good to be true. Belgrade and the Gallatin Field Airport are less than ten minutes from the property.
Wildlife: The ranch is home to an incredible diversity of game and non-game birds and animals. Whitetail deer, pheasants, and many types of waterfowl are found in abundance. Hungarian partridge, dove, moose and black bear are not uncommon. Raptors including bald eagles, great horned owls, red-tailed and rough-legged hawks, and kestrel falcons at times call this property home. The number and variety of songbirds that can be seen at the bird feeders off the back porch are incredible.
Live Water: Gallatin River Sporting Paradise boasts over ¼ mile of one of the best fishing and most private stretches of the Gallatin River. The property lies upstream from most of the main irrigation diversions so it enjoys far more water than one would see just a few miles downstream. It is also about 3 miles downstream and 2 ½ miles up from any public access making it very private and seldom fished by anyone other than the owner. Being downstream from the Gallatin Canyon and upstream from much of the irrigation diversion gives this area a high fish count and a great average size. The Valley Ditch flows year-round and crosses the property for almost ¾ of a mile offering a small technical fishery. It looks and fishes very much like a small spring creek and is a wonderful addition to the property. Its course takes the stream right by the main residence, guest apartment and caretaker’s home. Gallatin River Sporting Paradise represents the finest in trout fishing, shooting, bird and deer hunting available in Montana and the Northern Rocky Mountains.
