Big Horn Meadows Ranch
Details & Features
The Big Horn Meadows Ranch is located in Wyoming’s Big Horn Basin in Washakie County in the shadow of the Big Horn Mountains. The ranch lies approximately 7 miles south of the charming little cowboy town of Ten Sleep, Wyoming. This area is known for its true western heritage and lifestyle. Mixed with Native American and ranching history, Ten Sleep’s fertile soils, abundant artesian wells and various creeks, rivers and waterways provide the ideal Wyoming setting for ranching and raising livestock. Additionally, the sporting lifestyle is prevalent here. The Big Horn Meadows Ranch is accessed year round by county maintained roads leading to the ranch entrance. This property offers recreational opportunities all year long, such as hiking, camping, fly fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, hunting, wildlife viewing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. With 392 deeded acres the ranch offers approximately 222 acres of lush hay fields, irrigated by two pivots and gated pipe. With two and a half miles of the Nowood River running through the property there is ample sub-irrigated pasture for cattle, horses, sheep and wildlife.
Built in 2008 by the current ownership, the main home was custom designed with features including vaulted ceilings, hickory hardwood heated floors, floor to ceiling native stone fireplace, and an antique bar. Recently remodeled the main focal point of this magnificent home is the great room with its expansive windows overlooking the breath taking view of the 4 acre pond highlighted by the Big Horn Mountains in the back ground. Another key attribute of the main residence is the detail given to the gourmet kitchen. Designed with wormy maple custom cabinets, granite counter tops and a large walk in pantry this kitchen is built with the chef in mind. A generous dining room compliments the kitchen with large windows overlooking the ranch’s pastures. From the great room French doors open onto the custom stone patio with a large outdoor fireplace perfect for entertaining or simply enjoying a quiet evening on the ranch. The partially finished basement was renovated in 2015 to include two new bedrooms, full bath, utility room and large family room. The basement has walk out access toward the river.
To compliment the main home the ranch features a beautiful 3000 square foot barn, and hay storage building. The barn is two stories with 5 horse stalls, tack room and an 884 square foot finished office area on the second floor with windows overlooking the river and bluffs beyond. Set up as a cattle and hay operation the property has corrals and working pens designed for sorting, working and moving cattle efficiently. With automatic waters the water supply comes from a shared artesian well. For owner entertainment there is a lighted ATA Trap Shooting Range which includes a spacious clubhouse.
