Rocking B Ranch
Details & Features
Rocking B Ranch is situated at the foot of the Gros Ventre Mountains in the Hoback River Valley. The ranch is located in the small western town of Bondurant, which is full of ranching heritage. With the Hoback River meandering through the ranch for onsite fly fishing and the Bridger Teton National Forest out the backdoor, the recreational possibilities are endless for the outdoor enthusiast at the Rocking B Ranch.
The Rocking B Ranch consists of two separately deeded parcels of 42 acres each, totaling 84 acres. The western portion, or front of the property, is a mix of sage, grasses and native willows as well as a pond full of cutthroat trout. The current owners have added over 800 trees to supplement the natural vegetation. There is a formal lawn area around the main residence, ideal for entertaining or taking an evening stroll. A second pond and golf practice area are also adjacent to the main residence. The far eastern edge of the property is comprised of hillside which is United States Forest Service border.
The property boasts nearly ¼ mile of enhanced Hoback River frontage, two ponds, putting green, extensive landscaping, an 8-stall barn, guest quarters, caretaker’s home and a lovely two-bedroom, two-bath main residence.
Positioned on the banks of the river, the main residence totals 1,564 square feet of fine craftsmanship. The home is a finely finished, western-style residence with a gorgeous kitchen, expansive decks and outdoor dining area complete with a large river rock fireplace.
The guest quarters are located on two levels in a refurbished barn. Each level is fully functional with separate sleeping and living areas and bath. The upstairs also has a kitchenette area. Built-in bunkbeds add to the western décor of the guest quarters.
The caretaker’s residence is located to the south of the main home and guest quarters, giving each site maximum privacy. The caretaker home is a stand alone two bed, one bath home with a recent addition which adds to the living space. Next door to the caretaker home is an 8-stall barn complete with tack and grain room.
The Hoback River is onsite and meanders for approximately a quarter mile. In addition to the private water onsite, the USFS land allows for the owner to continue to fish the river should one desire to create a longer day. The Hoback is a freestone stream fresh with cool mountain water and excellent insect hatches. The Snake River Fine Spotted Cutthroat calls this waterway home and is prominent on this stretch of the river. It is important to note that the ranch controls both sides of the river making this a truly private fishery. In Wyoming, the landowner owns the stream bed hence prohibiting public fishing traffic. Floating on this section of the Hoback is virtually nonexistent based on the relative size of the river.
For hiking and equestrian adventures, the high mountain lakes of the Wind River Range (approximately 1,400 lakes) are excellent places to go for a day visit or extended camping trips. Several of the lakes and streams hold Golden trout, a rare treat for the well-traveled angler.
The Rocking B Ranch is frequented by Mule deer, moose, elk, coyotes, Red fox, badgers, rabbits, eagles, hawks, osprey, Sage grouse, and other small game and songbirds. The two ponds and river provide resting areas for duck and geese. This region is rich in big game and each fall hunters travel from all over the world to Sublette County to enjoy some of the finest big game hunting the area has to offer.
The Rocking B Ranch is being sold completely outfitted including all furniture, equipment and stock. An inventory list is available to qualified Buyers.
